ATLANTA (AP):Atlanta and San Antonio took imposing 2-0 leads in their opening-round playoff series with emphatic victories over Boston and Memphis on Tuesday night. The Hawks held the Celtics to the lowest-scoring first quarter in the playoffs since the NBA went to the shot clock, building a 21-point lead and holding on despite an ugly shooting performance of their own for an 89-72 victory and a strong hold on their Eastern Conference series.Al Horford and Kyle Korver led Atlanta with 17 points apiece, but this game was essentially decided in the first 12 minutes. The Hawks started nine of 13 from the field, knocking down six from beyond the three-point arc. Korver made four from long range, a big turnaround from a one-of-10 performance in Game One that didn’t include any threes. Atlanta led 24-3 just 6 1/2 minutes into the game.Even after failing to score the rest of the period, the Hawks still led 24-7 heading to the second.Shaking off a dismal performance in the playoff opener, Korver swished four three-pointers in the opening minutes to propel Atlanta to a stunning 21-point lead before many fans had settled into their seats. There wasn’t much doubt after that.MISSED SHOTS”We all have pride, right?” said Korver, who went one of 10 on Saturday and missed all seven of his three-point attempts. “I wanted to come out and play better the second game.”As good as Korver and the Hawks were in the early going, this one will be remembered more for the Celtics’ grisly start.”I don’t know what it is,” said Boston’s Jae Crowder, looking a bit shell-shocked after scoring just two points on one-of-nine shooting. “But we’ve got to change something.”Crowder had plenty of company in his shooting misery.Boston star Isaiah Thomas was held to 16 points on four-of-15 shooting, going one of six beyond the arc. Marcus Smart stepped in for the injured Avery Bradley and went one of 11, also making just one of six from three-point range. The Celtics finished at 32 per cent overall (28 of 88), five of 28 from long range.Game Three is tomorrow night in Boston.San Antonio were even more impressive than the Hawks in beating the Grizzlies 94-68. Patty Mills had 16 points, Kawhi Leonard added 13 and San Antonio never trailed in sweeping the first two games.

Now, within a month we have this act of vandalism.“It is not only an attack on the lorries but it is an attack on the community. We all know how badly these houses are needed in Letterkenny.“People in the area are angry to see the work delayed. The contractor has lost a day’s work, workers lost a day’s work and we just want to see it up and running again to see the homes completed as soon as possible.”The Ard Ban development has been estimated at €5million and will consist of 12 two-bed units, 14 three-bed units and two four-bed units.Cllr McMonagle is urging the public to provide information to help gardaí with their investigations in the wake of the fire. “If anyone saw anything I would strongly urge them to pass it on to the gardaí to get the people responsible brought to book. I would also call on the people responsible to think about their actions,” he said. The incident is believed to have occurred between 1am and 2am on Friday 1st November. Some QPR fans on Twitter are concerned Huddersfield’s promotion to the Premier League could lead to them re-signing Alex Smithies. The goalkeeper has been outstanding since being signed from the Terriers, who beat Reading in the Championship play-off final to clinch a place in the top flight. They have recently been tipped to move for Smithies if they went up, so the outcome at Wembley has worried some Rangers supporters.Hopefully Huddersfield don’t try to re-sign #Smithies from us now they’ve got promoted! Share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest Forage ash content comes from both internal and external sources. Internal sources include minerals such as calcium, phosphorus and potassium found in the leaves and stems of forage plants. External sources include things like soil, bedding, and sand that are deposited on the surface of the forage. An average internal ash content for alfalfa is around 8% and for grass forages around 6%. Values above that represent external sources and are negatively associated with forage quality and animal performance because ash takes the place of nutrients on approximately a 1 to 1 basis. A good goal to shoot for is an ash content of 3% coming from external sources, so an ash content of around 11% for alfalfa and 9% for grass forages.Forage harvest practices increase the external component of forage ash content. There are some management practices that growers can use to minimize the increase in ash percentage. The following list comes from a document written by Dan Undersander, Extension Forage Specialist at the University of Wisconsin:Raise the cutter bar of a disc mower: The lower the cut, the more likely it is to bring soil into the forage. Consider an alfalfa cutting height of 3 inches and 4 inches for alfalfa-grass mixes.Use flat knives on the disc mower. Angled knives create some suction and while they help to pick up lodged forage, they pick up more soil as well.Keep windrow off the ground. Placing a wide swath on to a higher stubble will decrease the amount of soil that can accumulate on the bottom of a windrow.Keep rake tines from touching the ground. Raising a cloud of dust when raking likely is adding 1 to 2% ash content to the hay.Use a windrow merger. Because hay is not rolled across the ground, there can be 1 to 2% less ash in the forage.
