Neyveli Book Fair 2019 inaugurated

first_imgNew Delhi: The 22nd Neyveli Book Fair, organized by NLC India Ltd. was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice R. Subramanian, Judge, High Court of Madras, Chennai on 05th July, 2019 in the presence of Rakesh Kumar, CMD and Functional Directors of NLCIL.This Book Fair will be thrown open to public for 10 days, upto 14th July 2019. In his Inaugural address, Hon’ble Justice R Subramanian commended NLCIL for honouring eminent writers, publishers and encouraging new upcoming writers by releasing their books as part of the Book Fair. While mentioning the world’s premier Book Fair at Frankfurt, Germany, he drew parallels with the Neyveli Book Fair, saying that both the Book Fairs make avenues for readers to interact with Publishers and Writers. He also extolled the efforts of NLCIL to bring more than 150 Book Publishers under one roof in a non-cosmopolitan area and that this has helped to serve the society by creating an effective knowledge hub. Hon’ble Justice honoured Karan Karki, Chennai, selected for the Best Writer award, M/s. Kannadasan Pathipagam, Chennai, the Best Publisher and released the Book Titled “Oththa Pulla Naan” a collection of poems written by R Mohan, CGM,CSR,NLCIL. He emphasized the significance of Parents and Teachers being a role model in this digital era to inculcate the habit of book reading among children. He informed that, as part of the celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, NLCIL had put up a special stall on Mahatma Gandhi’s Life and his writings. NLC India Limited with its motto ‘Creating Wealth for Wellbeing’ is contributing its might to the society through various welfare schemes and projects and is continuously striving to bring about a tangible change in the lives of the community. UPFA maintains opposition to National Government

He said that the UPFA has been able to take firm decisions when it was in power and so it will form a UPFA Government even after August 17 by correcting any mistakes it made in the past. The United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) has reiterated its opposition to a National Government and said that instead it will look to form a UPFA Government.Former UPFA Parliamentarian Dullas Alahapperuma said that the current National Government had failed to meet the expectations of the people. Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo today, Alahapperuma said that the UPFA will form a UPFA Government with Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Minister and Maithripala Sirisena the President.
