HUGE transfer report: Man United agree personal terms with Antoine Griezmann

first_imgManchester United have scored a huge transfer boost, with reports the Premier League club have agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann. The Red Devils are getting ready to trigger the French forward’s £89million buy-out clause when the summer transfer window opens. And, according to the Sun, Griezmann has already accepted a five-year deal, worth £280,000 a week, to move to Old Trafford. The 26-year-old is United manager Jose Mourinho’s top target for the upcoming transfer window, as he aims to build a team capable of fighting for top honours once again. And, after Atletico’s hopes of a third Champions League final in four seasons was all-but ended by a 3-0 semi-final defeat to rivals Real Madrid, it seems their star asset Griezmann could be on the move.Griezmann was said to have been initially hesitant over the switch, as he is keen to continue playing at the top level in Europe.A top four Premier League finish looks out of reach for United, but they still can, of course, seal a Champions League spot for next season if they lift the Europa League title. The Red Devils are set to complete the move as soon as the transfer window opens. And it is reported Mourinho is even expecting Griezmann to report for the club’s pre-season training in July. The deal will see Griezmann earn £60k more than France team-mate Paul Pogba, who returned to Old Trafford for the same £89m world-record fee last summer. 1 Is Antoine Griezmann heading to Old Trafford this summer? last_img read more
